Inventory in GoldFinch can be tracked by Warehouse, Bin, Item, Unit of Measure, and Lot through the Bin Content records.
Occasionally, you may want to delete Bin Content records with a quantity of 0. Follow the steps below to safely delete these records.
Steps to Delete Bin Content Records
|
This should only be done if you are 100% certain of what you’re doing, as modifying posted records can damage the database and some changes may be irreversible. |
-
Open the Developer Console.
-
Go to Debug > Open Execute Anonymous Window.
-
Run the following code:
GFERP.CompanyMgmt.systemCall = true;DELETE [SELECT Id FROM GFERP__Bin_Content__c WHERE Name = 'BC-0000447'];Replace the
WHEREclause with your own filters as needed.
Important Notes
-
Bin Content records can only be deleted if their quantity is zero.
-
Deleting a Bin Content record also deletes all related Warehouse Entry records.
-
GoldFinch allows deletion of Bin Content records even if they are linked to the following open transactions:
-
Warehouse Activities
-
Warehouse Shipments
-
Warehouse Receipts
-
Sales Invoices
-
Item Journals
If the Bin Content is still referenced in these transactions:
-
You can exclude those records from deletion, OR
-
Proceed with deletion, but you must recreate the related transactions before posting.
-
Handling Large Record Associations
If you encounter the following error:
"Record has too many associations with other objects to be deleted."
This likely means there are too many Warehouse Entry records. To work around this:
-
Add a custom checkbox field
To Be Deletedon the Bin Content table. -
Write a script to set this field to
trueif:-
Quantity = 0
-
Not referenced in any open transactions (as listed above)
-
-
Create a formula field
To Be Deletedon the Warehouse Entry table, referencing theTo Be Deletedfield on the related Bin Content record. -
Confirm no users are posting new transactions.
-
Delete all Warehouse Entry records where
To Be Deleted = true. -
Then, delete all Bin Content records where
To Be Deleted = true.
