Bin Basic Fields
- Bin Ranking - Prioritizes bins for picking items, used when the Lot Picking Option is set to Bin Ranking. Higher numbers indicate higher priority, with higher-ranked bins suggested first for Pick Tickets.
- Bin Sort - Sets a sequential order for bins, utilized in sorting during Cycle Counts, Pick Tickets, and Put-away documents.
- Bin Type - Defines the usage of the bin in item flows (inbound and outbound). A single bin can serve multiple purposes. For more information, refer to the GoldFinch documentation.
- Default Pick - Designates the bin as the default for picking inventory when selected.
- Default Put-away - Marks the bin as the default location for Put-away documents.
- Default QC - Sets the bin as the default receiving location for items requiring Quality Control on a Warehouse Receipt.
- Description - Provides detailed information about the bin.
- Maximum Cubage / Maximum Qty. / Maximum Weight / Minimum Qty. - Informational fields that may be used in put-away logic.
- Warehouse - Specifies the warehouse associated with this bin.
- Zone - Indicates the zone within the warehouse, if applicable. Zones help group Warehouse Activity Lines and can separate inventory for picking.
Bin Controls
- Blocked - Prevents any transactions from being posted to this bin when checked.
- Do Not Allocate - When selected, inventory in this bin is ignored during Sales Order or transfer order allocations.
- Excluded from Planning - Excludes the bin's inventory from Supply Plan calculations if checked.
- Frozen for Cycle Count - Ensures no activities are posted to the bin during a cycle count when this option is selected.
Bin Capabilities
- Pick - Automatically checked if the Pick option is selected under Bin Type, allowing the bin to be used for Pick Tickets.
- Put Away - Checked automatically if the Put-away option is set in the Bin Type, permitting the bin's use in Put-away documents.
- Receive - Checked automatically if the Receive option is selected in Bin Type, allowing use on a Warehouse Receipt.
- Ship - Automatically selected if the Ship option is specified in the Bin Type, enabling its use for Warehouse Shipments.
