How GoldFinch Selects a Sales Price for a Sales Order
GoldFinch evaluates several criteria to determine the appropriate Sales Price for a Sales Order:
-
Order Date:
-
The Order Date on the Sales Order must fall within the Starting Date and Ending Date of the Sales Price.
-
-
Pricing Type:
-
If the Sales Price is set to All Accounts, the same price will be applied to all customers.
-
If the Sales Price is specific to an account, the Sell-to Customer on the Sales Order must match the Account specified on the Sales Price.
-
If the Sales Price applies to a Pricing Group, the Sell-to Customer must belong to the specified Pricing Group.
-
-
Item and Unit of Measure:
-
The Item and Unit of Measure on the Sales Order must match the corresponding fields in the Sales Price record.
-
-
Quantity:
-
The Quantity on the Sales Order Line must be greater than or equal to the Minimum Quantity on the Sales Price record.
-
-
Active Sales Prices:
-
Only active Sales Price records are considered. The Sales Price is active if the current date is within the Starting Date and Ending Date.
-
-
Lowest Effective Price:
-
If multiple prices apply to the same item and customer, GoldFinch will select the lowest effective price. If no qualified Sales Price record is found, GoldFinch will use the Standard Base Price from the Item record.
-
Example Scenario
-
Specific Account Price: You set a price of $10 for a specific account.
-
Pricing Group Price: The same account belongs to a Pricing Group with a price set at $8 for the item.
-
Outcome: On the Sales Order, the system will apply the $8 price from the Pricing Group, as it is the lower of the two prices.
Alternate Shipping for Accounts
To configure alternate shipping for accounts:
-
Promote Alternate Shipping records to full Accounts.
-
On those accounts, populate the Alternate Billing field with the main account (e.g., ABC).
Sales Invoices and Unit Prices
When creating Sales Invoices from Sales Orders, the Unit Prices are copied directly from the Sales Order to the invoice, even if new Sales Price entries have been set up in the Sales Prices table.
By following these steps, you can efficiently manage your product pricing in GoldFinch, ensuring that your pricing strategies are implemented correctly across all customers and market segments.
