Once you've entered the Output and updated the expected consumption quantities, you're ready to input the actual consumption of the components used in production.
Steps to Enter Consumption Quantity
Edit the Production Journal
-
Open the Production Journal and review the components.
Update the Quantity for Each Component
-
Adjust the Quantity for each component based on the actual amount consumed during production.
Note
For Batch Manufactured Work Orders, the variance between the Expected Consumption Quantity and the Actual Consumption Quantity must be within the Batch Consumption Tolerance % defined on the ingredient’s Item card.
Review the Bin
-
Verify the bin from which the component items will be consumed.
Steps to Enter Consumption Lots (for Lot-Tracked Items)
After updating the actual consumption quantities, follow these steps to enter the lot details for the lot-tracked components:
Click the "Enter Consumption Lots" Button
-
At the top of the Item Journal Page, click Enter Consumption Lots.
Enter Lot Numbers
-
You will be brought to a screen listing all lot-tracked components. Enter the Lot Numbers for each consumption line.
Enter Negative Quantities
-
For each Lot Number, enter the negative quantity corresponding to the amount consumed (negative quantities are used to reduce inventory).
Save the Item Journal Line
-
Once all lot numbers are entered, save the journal line.
Check for Completion
-
The "Enter Lot" button will turn green once all the lots have been successfully entered.
By following these steps, you can ensure accurate tracking of actual component consumption, including lot-tracked items, during the production process in GoldFinch.
