Deploy Salesforce Metadata Using Gearset

Connect your SF Org

Login: https://app.gearset.com/

Connect your Salesforce Orgs to Gearset, including both Sandbox and Production environments.

Once your orgs are linked to Gearset, create a Comparison Pair for the Metadata Deployment.

Select the Comparison Pair you wish to use for the metadata comparison, then click the Compare Now button.

• You can define which metadata you want to compare by configuring the Comparison Filters.

Compare Managed Package Changes

To compare Managed Package Changes, navigate to the Manage Custom Filters page.

Ensure the Include managed packages setting is either set to ‘All’ or ‘Choose’, and confirm that the specific managed packages you want to include are selected.

Please refer to the screenshot below:

1. Left Panel: Select the specific metadata types you want to work on.
2. This shows the direction the changes will move during the deployment (e.g., Sandbox Full → Production).
3. Select the metadata record you want to compare, for example, the Whse Shipment page layout.
4. Bulk Select: If all changes need to be moved from left to right, check the checkbox to select all.
5. Individual Selection: You can also choose specific changes by selecting them individually.
6. Save Progress: Always save your comparison changes as a draft before moving to the next step.
7. Deploy: Once the comparison is complete, click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to deploy your changes.
