Overview

GoldFinch allows you to configure standard and custom financial reports to “slice and dice" financial data.

Procedures

Navigate to Financial Report Setup.

Set up New or Edit an existing Financial Report Setup. You can also Clone an existing Financial Report Setup to copy both rows and columns to the new Financial Report Setup.

Field Name	Description	Example / Notes
Hide Zero GL Account Row	When checked, any GL account row with a total amount of 0 for each selected accounting period will be hidden.

You can define what you prefer to display for rows and columns.

Field Name	Description	Example / Notes
Row No.	Unique number to control row order and reference in formulas.	Example: 10, 20, 30 (used like `{10} + {20}` in Formula)
Row Type	Defines how the row behaves. Options: Account Type, GL Account, Formula.	Selects how amounts are calculated for the row.
Account Type	Look up a predefined list of account types. Used when grouping by a category instead of a single account.	Example values: Revenue, Cost of Goods Sold, Expense
GL Account	Lookup to a specific General Ledger account. Used if Row Type = GL Account.	Example: 1000 – Cash, 4000 – Sales Revenue
Formula	Used when Row Type = Formula. References other rows by Row No.	Example: `{10} + {20} - {30}`
Row Text	Label or description that appears on the report.	Example: "Gross Profit", "Operating Expenses"
Reverse Sign	Checkbox to flip the sign of calculated amounts.	Example: Show revenue as positive rather than negative.

Field Name	Description (Help Text)	Example / Notes
Column No.	Unique number to control column order and reference in formulas.	Example: 10, 20, 30 (used like `{10}+{20}` in Formula)
Column Type	Defines how values are calculated for this column.	Options: Net Change, Balance, Beginning Balance, Ending Balance, Formula, % of Revenue
Column Header	Name displayed at the top of this report column.	Example: "Current Month", "YTD Total", "Plan vs Actual"
Formula	Used when Column Type = Formula. References other column numbers using braces `{}`.	Example: `{10}-{20}` calculates Variance. `{10} - nP` calculates a value from a prior period. n is a number P represents the period, based on the View By setting (Month, Quarter, or Year) Example: `{10}-3P` If View By = By Month, it shows the value 3 months before column {10}.
GL Ledger	Optional filter to limit results to one General Ledger. Leave blank to include all.	Example: Only include "US Ledger"
Accounting Variable 1	Optional filter for this column based on Accounting Variable 1. Limits amounts to a specific financial dimension.	Example: Department = "Sales"
Accounting Variable 2	Additional filter based on Accounting Variable 2. Use when reporting requires multiple dimensions.	Example: Cost Center = "East Region"
Accounting Variable 3	Additional filter based on Accounting Variable 3.	Example: Project = "Upgrade Initiative"
Accounting Variable 4	Additional filter based on Accounting Variable 4.	Example: Entity = "USA"
