GoldFinch supports allocating General Ledger (GL) amounts across multiple organizational dimensions, including Departments, Branches, Divisions, and even different GL Ledgers for intercompany scenarios.
Note
GL Allocation requires custom configuration by a GoldFinch consultant.
Supported Allocation Scenarios
Allocations can be configured for the following transaction types:
-
Purchase Invoice Line Allocation – used to distribute expense or cost lines across multiple dimensions.
-
General Journal Line Allocation – used to allocate General Journal Lines.
- Vendor Payment Allocation – used to allocate vendor payments when the Bypass AP option is enabled.
Allocation Rules
-
If the total Allocation % equals 100%, the system will reverse the original GL Entry and create system-generated GL Entries based on the allocation percentages.
-
When allocations span multiple GL Ledgers, the system automatically creates Intercompany GL Entries. These will use the Default Due To and Default Due From GL Accounts defined in each GL Ledger setup.
-
All system-generated allocation entries will have the Is Allocation checkbox selected. This makes it easier to filter allocation entries for reporting and audit purposes.
