How to use the Meal Configurator

From the Account page, go to the Meal Configurators related list. This is where you will set up the meal configurator for the account. You must define the meal component types to be delivered, how many, and on what day the meals will be delivered.

Meal Configurator Setup

Once you click on the New button, the screen below will open up.

• Name:

• Delivery/Pickup Days:

• Description: Enter the description of the Meal Configurator

• Start and End Dates: Enter the start and end date for the meal configurator

  • The Meal Configurator will only be active within the specified time frame

• Last Planning Date:

• Component Type: Enter the component type to be delivered

  • When running the Meal Requirement Planning function, the Component type will be used to cross-reference the Menu to determine what meal will be delivered on what day

• Meal Type: Define the Meal Type of the component

  • This will default from the Component Type but can be changed if needed

• Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, etc: Enter the quantity to be delivered each service day

• Delivery Day: Enter the delivery day for each service day

Meal Override

This can replace a specific item with another for this site only.

For example, if this site will not accept Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches, you can replace this item with a turkey sandwich. This is so that a different menu doesn’t need to be created.

Meal Requirements Planning

After you have the Meal Configurator set up, you can view the results of the Meal Configurator on the screen before you create the Sales Order/Invoice.

Enter the Delivery Start and End Dates you wish to view, then select Calculate.

This will show the meals planned to be delivered with the details about the delivery.

This is primarily used for showing what a client will be receiving on a future date.

Meal Requirements Planning Errors

If an error occurs, the error will be displayed when you run this function. You will need to resolve the error in order to show the data on this screen and create the Sales Order/Invoices.

For example, if the component Hot Lunch is on the meal configurator, but there isn’t a hot lunch on the menu for that program and time frame, an error will occur.
