Item Ledger Entries are used to track the movement of inventory within GoldFinch. Each time a transaction affecting inventory is posted—whether it's a shipment, receipt, consumption, output, or adjustment—an entry is made in the Item Ledger. These entries provide a detailed history of inventory activity, making it easier to manage stock levels and perform audits.
Key Transaction Types
-
Shipments: Tracks the reduction of inventory when items are shipped to customers.
-
Receipts: Records the addition of inventory when items are received from vendors or internal transfers.
-
Consumption: Logs the usage of inventory components during production or assembly processes.
-
Output: Reflects the creation of finished goods from work orders, adding them to inventory.
-
Adjustments: Captures manual changes to inventory, such as corrections for discrepancies or reclassifications.
