The menu setup is where food bank organizations can organize and efficiently manage what meals will be delivered. By setting up the menu properly, you can ensure that clients will receive the appropriate meals based on dietary restrictions and availability.
General Menu Setup
-
Name: name of the menu
-
Menu Type: specify between Congregate or MTM
-
Diet Type: choose from a picklist of different diet types
-
Start Date and End Date: enter the start and end date for the menu
-
Menus will only be active within the specified time frame
-
-
Meal Calculation Method: choose between Current Week or Rolling Forward
-
Current Week: Use this option if you will be delivering only the current week’s item during deliveries of the week.
-
For example, if you deliver the same weekly meals to different locations each day, you would select the current week so you will have the same meals for each delivery of the week to the different locations.
-
-
Rolling Forward: Use this option if you would like to deliver meals from next week’s menu.
-
For example, if you deliver this menu on Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday’s delivery would include this week’s Tuesday and Wednesday meals. Thursday’s delivery would include this week’s Thursday and Friday meals as well as next Monday’s meals.

-
Menu Item Matching Method: choose between All Matches or First Match
-
If there are multiple items with the same component type on the same day for the menu:
-
Select All Matches if you want to send all of the items in the component type
-
Select First Match if you only want to select the first item within the component type it finds

Menu Cycles
Generally, 1 cycle will equal 1 week. Cycles can be added by selecting the Add Menu Cycle button at the top.
If you have a situation where one cycle is similar to another, you can click on the Clone Menu Cycle button in the dropdown arrow to clone the existing Menu Cycle that you are on. Then, make your changes to the new copy.
