Purpose of Wave Pick and Batch Pick

Wave Pick:
Consolidates items from multiple orders into one Wave Pick document.
This streamlines daily warehouse picking by grouping all allocated items together. -
Batch Pick:
Creates one Pick Ticket per Sales Order.
This is useful if you prefer to pick each order separately.
To use the Wave Pick or Batch Pick function in GoldFinch, you must first enable the Whse. Pick functionality in the Warehouse.
Sales Order Templates (Optional)
If you need to process hundreds of orders, Sales Order Templates provide an efficient way to filter and manage orders for Wave or Batch Picks.
Template Filters:

Warehouse: Must select a single warehouse

Customers: Enter one or more customers, or leave blank for all

Order Date Range: Leave blank for all orders
-
Shipment Date Range: Leave blank for all shipments
-
Item Category: Enter specific categories, or leave blank for all
-
Items: Enter specific items, or leave blank for all
-
Orders to Pick: Default number of orders to pick
Creating a Wave Pick

From the Sales Order list, click the list view that meets the following criteria:

All selected orders must be regular Sales Orders (not return orders).

All selected orders must have at least one item allocated.

(Optional) Select specific orders to include.

Click Create Wave Pick.

Review the confirmation page:
-
Available Sales Order Templates (if any)
-
You can select one or more templates.
-

Total Sales Orders selected (from the list view and templates)
-
Items grouped by Item No. and Unit of Measure
-
-
Click Create Wave Pick to finalize.
Documents Created
-
Warehouse Shipment: Created for each Sales Order (from Ship bin)
-
Wave Pick Ticket: Includes all items to be picked from picking bins to the Ship bin
-
No individual Pick Tickets: The Wave Pick replaces them
The Wave Pick Ticket will be marked with a check in the Wave Pick field.
Printing the Wave Pick
Print the Wave Pick document to see all items and quantities to be moved from bins to the Ship bin.
Posting the Wave Pick
After picking is complete:

Post the Wave Pick Ticket: Moves inventory from Warehouse bins to the Ship bin.
Posting the Warehouse Shipment
For each order in the Wave Pick:

A Warehouse Shipment has been created.
-
When ready to ship, Post the Warehouse Shipment as usual.
Creating Batch Picks
To create Batch Picks (one Pick Ticket per Sales Order):

Follow the same steps as above.

Instead of Create Wave Pick, click Mass Create Shipments.
Preventing Partial Shipments
To prevent partial shipments:

On the Sales Order, check “Do Not Allow Partial Shipment”.
