The Insert Requisition feature in GoldFinch allows you to create special purchase orders or work orders for components directly from a Work Order. This process helps when there is insufficient component inventory and you need to procure or produce specific components.
Updating the Purchasing Type
When a Work Order is created, GoldFinch automatically sets the Replenishment System and Purchasing Type based on the item setup. If component inventory is insufficient, you can manually update the Purchasing Type to Special Order to generate:
-
A Special Purchase Order if the Replenishment System is set to Purchase Order.
-
A Special Work Order if the Replenishment System is set to Work Order.
If you do not see the Purchasing Type and Replenishment System fields on the Work Order Edit page, update the fieldset to include these fields.
Steps to Insert a Requisition
-
On the Work Order, click Insert Requisition.
-
Requisition Lines:
-
Requisition Lines are automatically created for component Work Lines where Purchasing Type = Special Order.
-
For Outside Service Work Lines, refer to this page for more details.
-
-
Quantity:
-
Requisition Lines will have a quantity equal to the Remaining Quantity of the Work Lines.
-
-
Review and Update Information:
-
Vendor: Taken from the Preferred Vendor of the item.
-
Order Date: Defaults to today’s date.
-
Due Date: Set as the Ending Date of the Work Line.
-
Creating Orders
After reviewing the requisition lines, click Create Orders. GoldFinch will generate the following:
-
Purchase Orders:
-
One Purchase Order per vendor and order date if Replenishment System = Purchase Order.
-
-
Work Orders:
-
One Work Order per line if Replenishment System = Work Order.
-
By using the Insert Requisition feature, you can efficiently manage special orders for components that are required for production, ensuring you have the necessary materials or work orders to complete your manufacturing process.
