The Scan Shop Floor feature in Goldfinch enables users with Manufacturing permissions to efficiently manage Work Orders by creating and posting Output Journals. These journals capture critical data such as Labor Times, Output Quantities, and Scrap Quantities. To use this feature, a Goldfinch User Setup record must be configured for each Salesforce User requiring access.
Key Features of Scan Shop Floor

Capture Operational Data: Record values for Run Time, Output Quantity, and Scrap Quantity.

Register Work Records: These values are stored in Register Work records, which are linked to specific Work Lines.

Roll-Up Summary: Total Run Time, Output Quantity, and Scrap Quantity are aggregated at the Work Line level.

Operations spanning multiple shifts.

Multiple users completing tasks on a single Work Line.

User Setup for Scan Shop Floor Function
Access User Setup:

Open the App Launcher and select User Setup.

Each Salesforce user needs a unique User Setup record.

Menu: Choose “Shop Floor”.

Scan Allow Post Output: Check this box to grant permission for creating and posting Output Journals.

Scan Work Center: Specify a Work Center Service Item the user can process.
-
Warehouse: Restrict operations to specific Warehouses.
Using the Goldfinch Mobile App for Labor and Quantity Entries
Access the Shop Floor Menu:

Open the Goldfinch Mobile app within Salesforce.

Select the Shop Floor menu option.
Work Line Display:
Only Work Lines meeting these criteria will appear:

The Warehouse and Work Center match the User Setup configuration.

The Line Status is either Open or Released.
-
The Work Center is not marked for Outside Service.
Work Line Information:

Time (HR): Displays Expected vs. Actual Time.

Qty (Input/Output):
-
For the first routing step, Input Qty. matches the Work Order’s Qty.

For subsequent steps, Input Qty. matches the previous step’s Output Qty.

Recording Work Details:

Select a Work Line and click Register to create a Register Work record.

Enter the following:
-
Shift: Specify the working shift.
-
Start Date/Time: Defaults to the current date/time.

End Date/Time: Defaults to the save time.
-
Output: Enter the quantity produced.
-
Scrap: Enter the scrap quantity.
-

Click Save to save the record.
-
Use the New button for additional entries or to record data for a different shift.
Creating and Posting an Output Journal

Review Work Line Details:

Verify Expected and Actual Time, as well as Input and Output Quantities.

Post the Output Journal:

When ready, click Post to create and finalize the Output Journal.

Ensure Scan Allow Post Output is enabled for the user to see the Post button.

Impact of Output Journal Posting:

Input Qty: Consumed from Raw Material inventory.

Output Qty: Recorded as the actual output for the Routing Step.
-
Finished Goods Inventory: Updated during the last Routing Step to reflect final production.

Qty Validation: Ensure total Output Qty. + Scrap Qty. equals the Input Qty.
