Set Up Items for the Outside Service Process – GoldFinch Clientcare

Before proceeding with the Outside Service Process in GoldFinch, certain item types must be set up correctly. These include:

Raw Materials
Finished Goods
Outside Service Items
Packing Items

Steps to Set Up Raw Materials, Packing Items, and Finished Goods

Open the App Launcher and search for Items.

Click on New or Clone an existing item to create a new item.

Create inventory items using the following configuration:

Field Name	Value
Item Type	Inventory
Work Center	Unchecked
Outside Service	Unchecked
Costing Method	FIFO
Standard Base Cost	Enter an average cost per Base Unit of Measure for reporting and standard cost roll-up.
Replenishment System	Purchase for Raw Materials and Packing Items. Work Order for Finished Goods
Preferred Vendor	Enter the preferred vendor to create new Purchase Orders.

Example of Raw Material and Packing Item Replenishment System:

Raw Materials/Packing Items: Replenishment System = Purchase
Finished Goods: Replenishment System = Work Order

Steps to Set Up an Outside Service Item

Open the App Launcher and search for Items.

Click on New or Clone an existing item to create a new Outside Service Item.

Create Outside Service Items using the following configuration:

Field Name	Value
Item Type	Service
Work Center	Checked
Outside Service	Checked
Costing Method	FIFO
Replenishment System	Purchase
Standard Base Cost	Enter an average cost per Base Unit of Measure for reporting and standard cost roll-up.
Preferred Vendor	Enter the preferred vendor to create new Purchase Orders.

By setting up these items correctly, you ensure that the Outside Service Process runs smoothly, with accurate inventory tracking, cost management, and vendor assignments in GoldFinch.
