GoldFinch allows you to configure Sales Prices at either the Item level or the Item Category level. Item Category pricing is useful when all items within a category share the same pricing rules, eliminating the need to create individual Sales Price records for every item.
Sales Price Setup
On a Sales Price record:
- Either Item or Item Category must be populated.
- Both fields may be populated.
- At least one of the two fields is required.
- The system prevents the record from being saved if both fields are blank.
Pricing Logic
The existing Item-level pricing logic remains unchanged.
When determining the Sales Price, GoldFinch follows this sequence:
- Search for a matching Sales Price using the Item.
- If a matching Item-level Sales Price is found, use that price.
- If no Item-level price is found, search for a matching Sales Price using the Item Category.
- If a matching Item Category Sales Price is found, use that price.
Both Item-level and Item Category-level pricing records use the same selection criteria, including:
- Currency Code
- Pricing Type
- Starting Date
- Ending Date
- Minimum Quantity
- Unit of Measure
Unit of Measure
For Item Category pricing, GoldFinch evaluates the Sales Price using the item's Base Unit of Measure.
Unit of Measure (UOM) conversion is not performed when evaluating Item Category Sales Price records.
