We continuously enhance the GoldFinch package by adding new features, improving existing functionality, and fixing bugs for all of our customers. Each new package contains all changes made since the previous release, so every upgrade includes cumulative improvements—not just the requests or fixes made for your organization.
Our standard release schedule includes three package updates each year, allowing customers to benefit from ongoing enhancements while minimizing risk through a structured release process.
Before any release is made available, our team performs extensive testing. However, because every customer's Salesforce environment may include unique customizations, integrations, or configurations, there are scenarios that cannot be fully replicated in our internal testing environment. When developing new functionality, we take great care to maintain backward compatibility and minimize the impact on existing customizations.
Our standard upgrade process is:
- We provide release notes for the new version.
- We install the package in your Sandbox environment.
- Your team validates your business processes and any customizations (typically over a one-month period).
- We install the package in your Production environment unless you select to opt out.
For some customers, waiting for the next scheduled release is not always practical. When a critical issue needs to be resolved, or an important enhancement is available, we may provide an interim package so you can benefit from the fix or enhancement as soon as possible.
While we thoroughly test every release, there is always a small possibility that a new package could interact unexpectedly with customer-specific customizations or third-party components. We believe this risk is very low, but we still follow a disciplined deployment process to minimize it.
At a minimum, we will notify you before installing a new package and obtain your approval before proceeding. If you prefer, we can first install the package in your Sandbox environment so your team can validate it before deployment to Production. We are also happy to provide the raw detailed change log, although it can sometimes be lengthy and technical.
If an issue is introduced by a GoldFinch package update, our team will work with you to resolve it as quickly as possible.
