Grant management combines Salesforce grant records and workflows with GoldFinch Accounting transactions. Because both operate on the Salesforce platform, authorized users can connect the grant lifecycle with its financial activity without maintaining a separate grant database.
How the solution works
| Area | Responsibility |
| Salesforce grant management | Maintains grant opportunities, applications, awards, grantors, dates, match terms, compliance requirements, draw-down activity, supporting documents, and workflow status. |
| GoldFinch Accounting | Records budgets, commitments, purchasing, expenditures, receivables, reimbursements, receipts, allocations, and financial results associated with the grant. |
| Salesforce platform | Connects records, applies approvals and automation, controls access, and provides reports, dashboards, tasks, and alerts. |
Information maintained for each grant
- Grant name, award number, grantor, and responsible program or department
- Grant classification, including local, state, federal, private, or other funding
- Award amount, matching requirements, indirect-cost terms, and eligible-cost rules
- Grant beginning and ending dates, reporting deadlines, and fiscal-year references
- Approved budget, commitments, expenditures, reimbursements, receipts, and remaining balance
- Applications, amendments, agreements, supporting documents, activities, and closeout status
Access and auditability
Salesforce permissions determine who can view or update grant and accounting records. Approval histories, record changes, source transactions, and supporting documents provide an audit trail. The specific controls available depend on the licensed applications and the organization's Salesforce configuration.
Configuration note: Grant-management features require an appropriate Salesforce-native grant-management application and configuration. GoldFinch Accounting supplies the related accounting, purchasing, expenditure, billing, and reporting functions.
