GoldFinch implementation follows a structured process designed to align the system with your business operations, prepare your team, and support a successful transition to production.
This overview describes the major implementation phases. Signed-in customers can access detailed setup instructions, data templates, and cutover procedures.
1. Project Preparation
The project begins by confirming:
- Business goals and priorities
- Project scope and timeline
- Project team members and responsibilities
- Key operational and reporting requirements
- Existing systems and data sources
A designated customer project lead should coordinate decisions, resources, and communication throughout the implementation.
2. Solution Design
GoldFinch and the customer review current business processes and determine how they will operate in GoldFinch.
Typical areas include:
- Sales and purchasing
- Inventory and warehouse operations
- Manufacturing or assembly
- Accounting and financial reporting
- Integrations and data migration
- User roles and approvals
The outcome is an agreed solution design that guides configuration, testing, and training.
3. System Configuration
GoldFinch is configured in the customer’s Salesforce environment based on the approved solution design.
Configuration may include company structures, warehouses, numbering conventions, business rules, user access, workflows, and applicable GoldFinch modules.
4. Data Conversion
The team prepares, reviews, and migrates required information from existing systems into GoldFinch.
Depending on project scope, this may include:
- Customers and vendors
- Items and pricing
- Inventory balances
- Open transactions
- General ledger balances
- Other relevant master or historical data
Customers are responsible for reviewing and approving the accuracy and completeness of converted data.
5. User Acceptance Testing
Customer users test configured processes in a sandbox or designated testing environment.
Testing confirms that:
- Business processes work as designed
- Converted data is accurate
- Reports and integrations meet expectations
- Users can complete their assigned responsibilities
- Issues are identified before go-live
Any required adjustments are reviewed and resolved before final approval.
6. User Training
Users receive training appropriate to their roles and responsibilities. GoldFinch may use a train-the-trainer approach, direct end-user training, or a combination of both.
Training should be completed before go-live so users understand their daily responsibilities and know where to obtain help.
7. Cutover and Go-Live
After testing, training, and data validation are complete, the customer approves go-live.
The project team then coordinates the transition from existing systems to GoldFinch, including final data activities and operational readiness checks.
8. Post-Go-Live Support
Following go-live, GoldFinch and the customer monitor system usage, address priority issues, and help users transition into normal operations.
GoldFinch Clientcare provides ongoing assistance, including knowledge articles and support requests.
Implementation responsibilities, timing, and deliverables may vary according to the customer’s licensed modules, business requirements, integrations, data complexity, and agreed scope of services.
