GoldFinch Warehouse Reports provide visibility into current inventory and the warehouse transactions that created or changed those quantities.
Because GoldFinch is built on Salesforce, authorized users can review warehouse information alongside related items, lots, orders, receipts, shipments, and operational records. Salesforce reporting tools can also analyze and present warehouse information to meet business requirements.
Inventory Visibility
GoldFinch can track inventory using multiple warehouse dimensions, including:
- Company
- Warehouse
- Bin
- Item
- Unit of measure
- Lot number
- Serial number, when applicable
This detailed structure helps organizations determine not only how much inventory is available, but also where it is located and how it is identified.
Bin Contents
Bin Content records show the inventory currently maintained for a particular combination of warehouse, bin, item, unit of measure, and lot number.
Authorized users can use Bin Contents to answer questions such as:
- What inventory is currently stored in a warehouse or bin?
- Where can a particular item be found?
- Which lots are stored in each location?
- What unit of measure is associated with the inventory?
- Which bins contain available inventory?
- Are quantities distributed across multiple storage or picking bins?
Bin-level visibility supports receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, shipping, cycle counting, and inventory investigation.
Warehouse Entries
Warehouse Entries provide the transaction history behind changes to warehouse inventory.
An entry may be created when inventory is:
- Received
- Put away
- Picked
- Shipped
- Moved between bins
- Counted or adjusted
- Converted to another unit of measure
- Transferred
- Produced or consumed in manufacturing
Warehouse Entries help users understand when inventory changed, what transaction caused the change, and which warehouse, bin, item, quantity, unit of measure, or lot was involved.
Current Balance and Transaction History
Bin Contents and Warehouse Entries serve different but complementary purposes:
- Bin Contents show the current inventory position.
- Warehouse Entries show the detailed activity that contributed to that position.
Together, they help users review both the present balance and the underlying transaction history.
For example, when investigating a quantity in a particular bin, a user can review the Bin Content record and then examine the related Warehouse Entries to understand how that quantity accumulated or changed.
Operational Reporting
GoldFinch warehouse information can support reporting and analysis such as:
- Inventory by warehouse
- Inventory by bin
- Inventory by item
- Lot-controlled inventory by location
- Inventory by unit of measure
- Warehouse receipts and put-aways
- Open picks and shipments

Important Data-Control Considerations
Bin Contents and Warehouse Entries are system records used to support inventory balances and warehouse history. They should normally be created and updated through approved GoldFinch transactions.
Directly changing or deleting these records can affect inventory accuracy, transaction history, open warehouse documents, and related records. Administrative corrections should be performed only by authorized personnel working with GoldFinch Support or a qualified GoldFinch Implementer.
