Configure Item Unit of Measures

An item can have multiple Item Units of Measure (UOM). Setting up these UOMs correctly from the beginning is crucial for the success of your GoldFinch implementation.

Instructions

• Each Item Unit of Measure will have a conversion factor. When you create new items, an Item Unit of Measure record is automatically generated with a default Conversion value of 1.

• Most items may only require one UOM. However, if you need multiple UOMs, refer to the FAQs - Base Unit of Measures for guidance.

• Pay close attention to the Conversion field. Once an Item Unit of Measure is used, the Conversion value cannot be changed until the Inventory Quantity on Hand is zero and the UOM is no longer used in open transactions.

• You can also input other fields, such as GTIN, dimension fields, and Weight, as needed.
