Non-Inventory Items
Use the Non-Inventory item type when you do not need to track On Hand Quantity but still want to receive, ship, or use the item on a manufacturing work order.
If the option is missing, add Non-Inventory to the Item Type global picklist.
If you plan to receive non-inventory items, turn OFF the AllowToReceiveServiceItems setting. Read Create Warehouse Receipts for more information.
Use Service items only for true service charges, such as:
- Shipping
- Handling
- Installation labor
- Miscellaneous service fees
