If your warehouse receives goods on pallets, GoldFinch allows you to create pallets during receiving, print pallet labels, and manage put-away using those pallets.
Creating Pallets
- Open the Warehouse Receipt (Whse Receipt).
- Click Create Pallets.
A page opens displaying all items on the Warehouse Receipt.
Before creating pallets:
- Update the received quantities on the Whse Receipt Lines.
- Enter Item Lots for all lot-tracked items.
Note
All lots for lot-tracked items must be entered before creating pallets. Otherwise, GoldFinch will display an error.
Enter the Quantity to Pack for each item and lot, then click Quick Save.
GoldFinch creates one or more pallets based on the quantities entered.
Repeat this process until all received inventory has been assigned to pallets.
Editing Pallets
To modify an existing pallet:
- Open the Warehouse Receipt.
- Click Create Pallets.
- Select the pallet you want to edit.
You can:
- Add items
- Remove items
- Update quantities
- Modify lot assignments
Note
To maintain inventory integrity, pallets and pallet lines can only be created or edited through the Create Pallets page. They cannot be modified directly from the Pallet list or Pallet record.
Posting the Warehouse Receipt
Creating pallets is optional during the receiving process.
However, if you create any pallets for a Warehouse Receipt, all received items on that Warehouse Receipt must be assigned to pallets before the receipt can be posted.
This ensures every received item can be accurately tracked throughout put-away and warehouse operations.
Creating Put-away
If your warehouse is configured to use Put-away, click Create Put-away after posting the Warehouse Receipt.
GoldFinch creates the necessary Put-away documents to move inventory from the receiving area to its storage or picking locations.
Note
When a Put-away is posted, GoldFinch automatically updates the Bin Code on each pallet from the Receiving Bin to the destination Put-away Bin. This allows the pallet location to remain synchronized with the inventory location throughout the warehouse process.
Current Limitation
Pallet support is currently limited to the receiving and put-away processes. GoldFinch does not currently support:
- Moving pallets between bins or warehouses
- Picking inventory by pallet
- Shipping pallets directly
After inventory is put away, warehouse operations continue at the individual inventory level rather than the pallet level. Future releases may expand pallet functionality.
