Overview
If your customers require a packing list for each pallet, GoldFinch allows you to group shipment items into pallets and print a separate Pallet Packing List for each pallet.
This feature is useful when multiple pallets are shipped on a single order, and each pallet contains different items or quantities.
Creating Shipment Pallets
- Create the Warehouse Shipment.
- Click Create Pallets.
A page opens displaying all shipment lines that have not yet been assigned to a pallet.
Select the item(s), enter the Quantity to Pack for each item, and then click one of the following:4
- Save – Saves the current pallet and returns to the pallet list.
- Quick Save – Saves the current pallet and immediately allows you to create another pallet without leaving the page.
Repeat this process until all shipment items have been assigned to pallets.
Editing Shipment Pallets
To modify an existing shipment pallet:
- Open the Warehouse Shipment.
- Click Create Pallets.
- Select the pallet you want to edit.
You can:
- Add items
- Remove items
- Update packed quantities
Note
Shipment pallets can only be created or edited through the Create Pallets page to ensure packing quantities remain synchronized with the Warehouse Shipment.
Printing Pallet Packing Lists
After all shipment items have been assigned to pallets:
- Open the Warehouse Shipment.
- Click Pallet Packing Slip.
GoldFinch prints one packing list for each shipment pallet.
Each packing list shows the items and quantities assigned to that pallet, making it easy for customers to verify the pallet contents upon receipt.
Note
All shipment items must be assigned to a pallet before pallet packing lists can be printed. If any shipment quantities have not been packed, GoldFinch displays an error identifying the items that still need to be assigned to a pallet.
Current Limitations
Shipment pallets are used only for generating pallet packing lists. They do not represent physical warehouse pallets and are not linked to receiving pallets.
As of this release, GoldFinch does not support:
- Picking inventory by pallet
- Shipping warehouse pallets directly
- Tracking pallet movements during shipping
- Linking receiving pallets to shipment pallets
Shipment pallets are intended solely to organize shipment contents and produce a separate packing list for each pallet.
