Overview
This function is used to import the ingredients associated with manufactured items or Kit BOM items. We have created a template that allows you to import your Item Formulas using our GoldFinch process.
If you would like to use the Salesforce Import Wizard instead, skip ahead to the Using Salesforce Import Wizard to Import Item Formulas section.
Set up Import Item Formulas Tab
If the Import Item Formula Tab isn’t set up yet, refer to this Setup Import Item Formula Tab page.

The Create Item Formula, Import CSV, and Mass Delete buttons should be on the Search Layout for the Import Item Formula object.

The Not Processed List View must be created for the Import Item Formula object
Prepare Import Item Formulas Template

Before importing the Item Formulas, some fields will need to be set up beforehand in GoldFinch. These are:

Populate the Import Item Formula Template with your Item Formula information to be imported.

For Batch Manufactured Items, Qty. Per is for the default Batch Unit of Measure.

For other items, Qty. Per is for the Base Unit of Measure.
The mandatory fields to be populated to create a record are highlighted in red. There is sample data in the template for you to use as a guide.

Use this template without removing or moving any columns. The columns must be in this specific order for the import to be successful. Before you save the file, remove all rows before the column header row.
Save the file as a CSV.
Import Item Formulas Template
Open the App Launcher. Search for Import Item Formulas.
Import the .csv file following these steps:

From any view other than Recently Viewed, select the Import CSV button.

Select Choose File then browse to select the file to be imported.

Select Upload File.
The function will bring the data into the Import Item Formulas object.
Process Records
Once the information has been imported, you can view the data before it is processed and the Item Formula records are created.

In the Not Processed View:

Select the individual Import Item Formula record(s) to convert into an Item Formula .

If no records are selected, GoldFinch will process all of the records where the Processed field is NOT checked.

After selecting the Import Item Formula records, click the Create Item Formulas button to process the data.

After an Item Formula has been successfully created, the Processed field on the Import Item Formula record will be checked and set to true.
Error Resolution
If there are any errors, the Item Formulas will not be created until the errors have been resolved.
You will see the reason for the error in the Error Text field.
Edit the information in the Import Item Formula record to resolve the error.
Once all errors have been resolved, rerun the process by selecting the Import Item Formula records and clicking the Create Item Formulas button.
Mass Delete
The Import Item Formulas function has a feature to Mass Delete data.
If necessary, multiple Import Item Formula records may be deleted at the same time:

In the Not Processed View:

Select the individual Import Item Formula record(s) you want to delete.

If no records are selected, GoldFinch will delete all the records where the Processed field is NOT checked.

After selecting the Import Item Formula records, click the Mass Delete button to process the data.
Using Salesforce Import Wizard to Import Item Formulas (Second Option)
Open the App Launcher. Search for Item Formulas.
Clicking the Import button in the Item Formulas list will open the Import Data Wizard filtering on the Item Formulas object.

Click on Item Formulas object

Click Add new records

Map the fields and upload the Import Item Formulas template CSV file. Click Next.

Review the Field Mapping. Click Next.

Click Start Import.
Salesforce will load the Bulk Data Load Jobs page, which will show the current status of all records that are being imported in separate batch jobs.
After the batch job has been completed, the results will show whether the records were created or failed.
Review the View Result CSV file if any records failed.
